A bespoke website and payment system allowing users to find and secure a resting place in a columbarium for themselves or their loved ones. Featuring a custom columbarium selection system, users can see exactly where their remains will be laid to rest.

The challenge: a decision made once
Choosing a resting place for cremated remains is not a transaction anyone wants to rush, and it is not one that works well over the phone either.
Families want to see exactly where their person will be, not pick an option from a list. Every question that went unanswered came back as a phone call to a small team, which made the whole thing slower and harder for everyone involved.
It is also a decision people make once, often at the worst moment of their life and usually on behalf of somebody else. Nothing about the process could feel like a checkout.
There was nothing to copy, either. Columbaria are not sold online, so there was no established pattern for choosing a niche and no comparable site to lean on.
Our approach: show them the place
Families want to see exactly where their person will be, not choose an option from a list.
So the selection system is the heart of the build. A visitor browses the columbarium itself, sees which niches are available and picks the actual place, which is the thing a phone call could never really convey.
Payment follows in the same visit, taken securely, with whichever options the client wants to offer at the time. Confirmation and paperwork come back automatically rather than waiting on somebody at a desk.
The tone stays quiet throughout. No urgency, no promotion, and a long, properly answered set of questions, which was as much about respect as it was about reducing the calls a small team has to field. Behind it, the admin lets the client add new locations and payment options as the columbarium grows.
What we built for Eternum Columbarium
A sensitive purchase that had never been made online before, so every step of it had to explain itself as it went.
Niche selection
A visitor browses the columbarium and chooses the actual resting place rather than an option from a list, which is the part a phone call could never convey.
Secure payment
Payment is taken in the same visit, with the options the client chooses to offer, and confirmation comes back without anybody at a desk.
Location management
The client adds new columbaria and adjusts payment options themselves as the site grows.
Questions answered properly
A long set of frequently asked questions, written out in full, which was about respect as much as about reducing the calls a small team has to take.
Contact form
For the questions the FAQ does not cover, behind reCAPTCHA so the team are not sorting through spam.
News and updates
A place to post progress as new locations open, kept current by the client.
