A bespoke website and application system for recruitment startup QuoPro Recruitment. The system handles both employer and candidate applications and allows QuoPro staff to manage the recruitment process online.
QuoPro in numbers
The challenge: hiring without a room
QuoPro launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, when nobody could sit in a room together and every part of hiring had to work remotely or not at all.
Candidates were the harder half. People looking quietly while still employed will not put a profile anywhere their current employer might see it, so the confidentiality had to be real and obvious before anyone would sign up.
Employers were not simple either. A business paying to browse candidates expects a shortlist worth the money, which means complete profiles, and complete profiles only come from candidates who trust the system.
It also launched into a market where every competitor had gone remote at the same time. Being online was no advantage on its own, so the confidentiality had to be the reason to choose it.
Our approach: confidentiality first
A candidate looking quietly will not sign up anywhere their current employer might see them.
So the confidentiality is structural rather than a promise in the small print. A candidate owns their profile, controls what it says, and only approved employers can see it. Nothing is public and nothing is visible by accident.
Employers work the other side of the same system, browsing the profiles they have been approved for and processing applications online rather than through email attachments. QuoPro staff manage approvals and progress in between, which is the part that used to happen in a room.
GrowPro sits alongside it with its own sign-up route. It exists to improve somebody’s employment prospects after leaving school or further education, which is a different conversation from a job application and gets a different path through the site.

Candidate profiles
A candidate owns their profile and controls what it says. Nothing is public, and only approved employers can see it.
Employer access
Approved employers browse the candidates they are cleared for and process applications online instead of over email.
Confidential by design
The confidentiality is built into how the system works rather than promised in the terms, which is what made quiet job hunters willing to sign up.
Application handling
Applications are managed through the system by QuoPro staff, replacing the part of hiring that used to happen face to face.
GrowPro sign-up
A separate route for the GrowPro programme, aimed at improving employment prospects after school or further education.
Remote from the start
Built in 2020 for a process where nobody could meet, which turned out to be how recruitment works now anyway.
